Moraine Lake is one of the most stunning lakes in the Canadian Rockies, if not the world, and should be enjoyed to its fullest. Moraine Lake is a glacial lake in Banff National Park, Canada, 14 km away from Lake Louise. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten peaks, altitude 1884 meters. The lake area has a surface area of 0.5 square kilometers.
Moraine Lake can only reach the highest line at the end of June each year. The refraction of the sedimentary rock powder makes the lake show a beautiful blue-green color and forms one of the most amazing scenery in the world.
The area around the lake has several walking/hiking trails which are, from time to time, restricted because of grizzly bear activity. Parks Canada provides updated trail conditions and/or restrictions.
Nestled in a spectacular valley in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Moraine Lake Lodge provides the ultimate romantic getaway for those seeking a luxurious escape for a honeymoon, anniversary, hiking experience, or a relaxing vacation. The luxury lodge’s architecture embraces the dramatic beauty of Banff National Park. From here you can explore all that nature has to offer, or take short drives to spectacular sites like Lake Louise and the picturesque town of Banff.
