Phi Phi islands is a popular place for diving and snorkeling, kayaking and other marine recreational activities. Phi Phi Islands between Phuket and Krab is a famous tourist destination in the southern region of Thailandand.

In Phi Phi island group, the only inhabited island is Koh Phi Phi Don where has many sandy beaches that are surrounded by palms. The crystal clear water of the bay is shimmering in blue shades and corals can be easily seen from the boat.

Recently, many people chose here to spend their vacation. They can swim and snorkel at beaches, bays or coral gardens. This island has been pictured for the movie, “The Beach”.

The best time to visit the island in Andaman Sea is dry season from November to April. The weather is not pretty on summer. It usually has some sporadic showers during the afternoons and evenings, daily rainfall and strong winds sometimes.

Things to do

  • Diving on Hin Muang. Hin Muang is a rock formation in the middle Of the Andaman sea that rises sharply from the seabed to a pinnacle that breaks the surface at low tides.
  • Phi Phi Sunset Kayaking. The sun going down between the cliffs and Wang Long is magical.
  • Diving in the King Cruiser wreck for premier drivers. The King Cruiser Wreck is just 500 meters from Shark Point dive site where visitor can see leopard shark.
  • Camping on Maya bay. Maya Bay is where Leonardo DiCaprio made his famous film ‘The Beach’ and is a great place for beach party on the island.
  • Walk to View Point. The Viewpoint walk starts at the back of the main village and takes about 40 minutes on a made up path under the shade of the coconut grove to the classic viewpoint look out.
  • Snorkeling with the sharks. The tours can be booked online.
  • Visit Monkey Beach.
  • Snorkel Hin Klang.
  • Visit Bamboo Island. Bamboo Island National Park is a great place to laze away a few hours listening to the sea breezes whistle through the Casuarina trees and the waves on the sea shore.
